Research On MS

I found this on the MS discussion board I use online and thought I would share.

Many avenues being explored for MS are going against my beliefs. For example, stem cell exploration is playing with life and many see no wrong in doing so.

Some do not see it as wrong as they seem to think life just suddenly starts at maybe a few weeks , maybe 12 weeks or maybe 20 weeks , to make it it suitable for them not to feel guilt.

A cure would be fantastic but at what cost ??

Evolution my butt! However, that is quite interesting stuff. But I wonder how they would apply it? Implant the good gene into everyone?Hmmmmmm.......better than stem cell killing though......

Natural selection occurs - survival of the fittest. But it's a 'leap of faith' to start speculating about the origins of the genes...
Interesting research and early days but the results always get hyped up in the media using words like 'breakthrough' or 'miracle cure' ..possibility....
I once saw a play about the morality of stem cell research with sixth formers at the Science Museum - something about Grey Days - and the heroine was an MS sufferer and the discussion raged around whether a group of dividing cells was anything more than a blob of jelly. But it is an awesome creation already needing just 8 months growth for independent life.
If you don't have God then you are at liberty to make your own morality on the basis of possibly saving the life of an adult at the expense of a 'blob'.
Yes, definitely better than stem cell Mrs Baptist!
