Treatment started today.

Today I have started my three day course of IV Steroids. The canula went in first time yippee!!! They warmed up my hands and got a specialist nurse do it do this. My blood vessels normally play hide-and-seek so I feel very relieved.
Apart from jitters and speaking non-stop gobboldygook I am feeling OK.
Now I would like to say well done the NHS service, as I was seen quickly by my neurologist and treatment started soon after. The nurses and doctors are over-worked and under a lot of pressure, but the ones I came into contact with are always smiling and did a great job.

SO WELL DONE THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE NHS SERVICE.

So many people complain and are quite vocal about this free service, lets say something when a good job is done and support them.
Many of my family are nurses and they do such a good job.

Two more days of IV steroids then I will do a great impression of a tomato for few days and hopefully then start improving. I love my husband and he is the greatest carer in the whole world.

Big UP your husband, no bias of course, and big UP the NHS, no bias either!

When things work, they really work and when they fail, it can be quite spectacular but where else in the world can you fall over in the street and be picked up and given a free ride to hospital where you are given free treatment?!!! It has many flaws but the NHS is still something to be proud of and to work for.

P.s glad they got in 1st time!

Glad to hear that your vein didn't go 'on holiday' .... apparently Daniel's did when he was in hospital last week!
Hope the steroids help with the relapse, and also, of course your carer is excellent. No bias there then either!

I picl up the phone. Within an hour my son is seen by a doctor. Half and hour later he is admitted to a childrens ward. An hour later he has the attention of 2 doctors and 2 nurses. 2 days later he is discharge home well enough to drive me insane :).Where else would we get this? Far from perfect I know but I am so sick of the negative comments. At lot of people work very hard for the NHS...so keep up the praise! Maybe you could write to your local paper.
